Satyr

Life Expectancy

Satyrs live an average of one hundred and fifty years. Whether this is because of their almost holistic lifestyle or some grace of their form is unknown. Though if you were to ask a satyr, he would tell you it’s the wine. Maybe this is true, but it certainly hasn’t worked for other races on Fenorra.

Appearance:

  • A dead giveaway of a satyr is the hoofed, fury legs of a goat. Almost all satyrs have horns of a sort upon their forehead, though some are much more noticeable than others. Also the occasional slurring and skirt chasing is a good sign.

Mentality

Satyrs are half man half goat, respectively from the top down. They are also very seldom to be found nose deep in a book. Not that they are dumb by any means, they simply lack the drive for knowledge that draws one to libraries or lectures.
Satyrs are more driven to learn of life’s physical mysteries. They are much more adept at challenges of the body. Things like the art of a warrior, the skills of a huntsman, or the talents of a sportsman. When all is said and done, when the battle is over, the elk is skinned and the track has been run, you’ll find all of these types of men at a tavern. Pouring over a tankard right next to any satyr.
Satyrs have a love for wine and ferment that is a little beyond healthy. This does not mean that all satyrs waste their days away searching the bottoms of goblets for the meaning of life. Though there is the occasional Satyr or two that cannot be torn from his flask of wine.
As full of joy and pleasantries as they are, satyrs have an equally strong and fierce will to them. Once a satyr takes up a cause, it is seldom let go without a final breathe. There is a saying among mountaineers, “Once you look a mountain goat in the eyes, be sure you understand whose mountain your on.” The same can be said of facing off with a satyr who doesn’t quite agree with you.

Generally how Satyrs may feel towards other races:

Caementum:   Also dwellers of the wood, though a little dim witted.
    Calicantars:
Maenads: Our loved ones, or wives, they are crazy women, but we love them.

Dracons:   They are rather closed minded, thinking they are so special.
Dúrla:   Our brothers of the forest, they are good company.
Elemental Kin:   They are too busy trying to kill each other to be any use to us.
    Elves:  Flighty, but good company.
Humans:   They are rather closed minded, thinking they are so special.
Kobolds:   Fun loving but not to be trusted around your belongings
Night Walkers:  Abominations those living dead are.
Patchworks:   They don’t seem to be made of any one race, must be tough on them, not knowing what they are.
Pixies:   Those bugs are more evil than others may know.
Shing Guai:   What are those? Vampires? Evil creatures, stay away from those.
    Werewolves:   Dangerous
