Shing Guai

Life Expectancy

    The Shing Guai live as long as they are not killed. Unless they meet with violent ends they will never truly age past maturity. Some Shing Guai have been known to wander into the world to make their end.

Appearance:

  • The Shing Guai have Vampire like fangs and a sunken redness under their eyes. The sunken redness under their eyes grows more predominant as they grow older. Aside from these two things, they appear in every way as a normal human.

Starts with:

    Alien Metabolism:
    In the case of this Shing Guai, they take no effect from all normal forms of healing magics, potions, and alchemy.  They take half damage from Fenorrian causing magic(round up), and are only healed by their own feeding ability.
    When the call “# essence healing” is used on a Shing Guai, it is taken as healing. –This skill is not necessarily known to exist.

Racials:

  • May purchase Dextrous Armor
      • At times, some Shing Guai have learned the art of Dexterous movement.
  • May Purchase "Feeder"
      • Some Shing Guai soothers have learned the ability called “Feeder” which can force their own life essence into a fallen Shing Guai who is not amongst the dead. (This is done by making the uninterrupted call, “ I feed to you one, I feed to you two, I feed to you three.”)  Soothers that have developed this talent have become immune to the drain effect from life gaze, and feeder, but still cannot feed the same Shing Guai for six hours.

Society

The Shing Guai, at this point in time, have become a separatist people. Though the outside world has little to no understanding of why, the truth is that it is out of fear.
  The Shing Guai has been persecuted in the past for their resemblance to one of the most feared creatures of the night. Being born with Fangs of sorts and gifted/cursed with a lifespan defined only by violent ends, the Shing Guai were and are often blamed for being vampires.
In times past, some of the Shing Guai lived amongst other races. This almost always ended with poor results. The people of other races would eventually come to violently blame the local Shing Guai for events that did or did not happen, and most assuredly were not the fault of the Shing Guai in question.
Having an uncanny understanding of the ignorance around them, the Shing Guai gathered unto themselves and left the eyes of the world. They did not do this out of hatred for those around them, but did so in part out of hatred for what they were.
    Having found a place on Fenorra that was acceptable to settlement, and without dangerous inhabitants, the Shing Guai settled Tofan-Yang.  Here they could live without insult or injury from others. They would no longer have as great a necessity to wane the life force from others in order to heal. A thing that has become a most loathsome act to the Shing Guai.
Some of the residents of Tofan-Yang have developed themselves to “feed” the injured in order to save them from traveling to see the Faiths. Though this is the furthest that any Shing Guai has delved into the potential of their race. To this day the Shing Guai have held fast to their dislike of Vampires, whose actions and merciless cruelties have driven the Shing Guai to live in seclusion in Tofan-Yang.
